Slapdash Slaps Back

Skipper, what are you doing this weekend?

That is a great — and timely — question. Beginning Friday at 10 PM, I will be locked in a theater with five writers. Upon arrival, each of us will write down a line of dialogue and put it into a hat. The six of us will then draw a line out of the hat. The line that you wrote becomes the ending line of your scene and the line that you draw becomes the opening line of your scene. Then, the writers will draw for number of characters and genders. Trading is possible and encouraged.

After this is out of the way, feverish writing commences and continues through the wee hours. Finished scripts, theoretically, will be ready for the six directors who arrive at 7 AM. One hour later, 18 actors show up and rehersals begin. Twelve hours later, at 8pm Saturday night (July 8), the curtain rises on six original works.

Loaded Gun Theory is producing the third year of Slapdash Flimflammery, produced by Loaded Gun Theory. They were featured on Arts Ecletic last week.
