a Monday morning mix (also good for running)

So, I’ve always wondered what the rest of Barry’s Monday Morning Mix that he brings into the record shop in Nick Hornby’s High Fidelity. In the book (and in the movie), we find out (and hear) that it starts with Katrina and the Waves’ “Walkin’ on Sunshine.” The next song is Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels’ “Little Latin Lupe Lu.” But that’s it, it never gets played after Rob stops the tape or even mentioned again.
This imagined mix became the beginning of my running soundtrack for my half marathon on Sunday — my first! finished in 2:46:49 — and worked very well. (Of course, the second part was the Hold Steady ‘cuz nothing’s better for running than Craig Finn and company.)
I tried to keep it to songs that I’d like to hear on a Monday morning, to get things started but with the scrutiny of a record store snob. Enjoy.
